Your booking, explained
Please review these conditions before you make a reservation. This page describes the practical terms that apply to bookings, payments and passenger travel.
1. Understanding the booking agreement
These conditions describe the contract for journeys requested through Catch a Minicab and provided by Catch a Minicab. They apply alongside the details and conditions shown in your booking confirmation.
Getting a price estimate is not the same as securing a vehicle. A booking is accepted when we confirm it through the booking service, email or another agreed channel. Availability may change before acceptance.
If you make arrangements for someone else, please supply accurate passenger details and ensure the traveller understands relevant collection and conduct requirements. We may publish revised terms; the conditions applying to an accepted booking remain those applicable to it unless otherwise lawfully agreed.
2. What you should check before travelling
Look through the confirmation as soon as it arrives. The pickup and destination addresses, travel date, collection time, flight details, number of travellers, luggage and special requests must reflect the journey you intend to take.
Please tell us promptly if something is wrong. Vehicle suitability and price depend on the information supplied, and inaccurate passenger or luggage details can prevent the journey from being carried out safely.
Driver and vehicle details may be supplied closer to the journey. Where a suitable replacement vehicle is needed, we may provide one that accommodates the confirmed requirements.
3. Fares, payment methods and extras
The displayed fare is based on the route, time, vehicle and optional extras included in your quotation. Your confirmed price is subject to the terms of that journey and any additional costs arising from customer-requested changes.
Card and cash options are offered only when they appear in the booking flow or are agreed by our team. A card authorisation may be placed before travel and captured later; an authorisation alone is not a completed payment.
Extra stops, substantial route changes, waiting beyond the free allowance, additional parking or applicable tolls may change the amount payable. Any applicable taxes will be handled in accordance with the law.
A quoted fare is not held indefinitely. If you return to a saved quotation later, availability and prices may need to be checked again.
4. Airport collections, flights and meeting your driver
Provide the correct flight number and arrival details when arranging an airport pickup. Where valid flight information is supplied, flight monitoring can assist with ordinary delays, but you must tell us about a cancellation, diversion, flight-number change or other material alteration.
At an airport, proceed to the meeting point communicated for your terminal and keep the phone number supplied for the passenger available. If you cannot locate the driver, contact the driver promptly and then our team if needed.
Allow sufficient time for passport checks and baggage reclaim when choosing your collection time. Delays inside the terminal do not remove waiting or parking charges that become payable after the applicable allowance.
5. Waiting allowances and missed pickups
Airport collections normally include 30 minutes of waiting from the applicable confirmed or adjusted pickup time, including the parking covered by that allowance. Other collections normally include 10 minutes. The booking confirmation governs any different arrangement.
Once free waiting ends, the applicable vehicle waiting rate is charged in 15-minute increments. Further parking costs incurred after the included period may also be charged. The amount depends on the vehicle category and the booking conditions.
Please stay contactable and go to the agreed collection point. If the passenger does not appear and cannot be contacted within the applicable no-show period, the driver may report a no-show and the journey charge may remain payable.
6. Changing a journey after confirmation
Eligible customers can request changes to pickup details, travel times, destinations, vehicle type or journey requirements before the applicable amendment deadline. A requested change is not final until accepted and confirmed.
A change may produce an additional charge or a reduction. Any extra payment, credit or refund is dealt with through the relevant booking amendment process, and revised details should be checked once confirmation is received.
Where an online amendment option is unavailable, contact our team. Some changes cannot be accepted at short notice, particularly when the assigned vehicle has already been committed.
7. Cancellation deadlines and refunds
The deadline applicable to a particular booking is shown in the booking information or confirmation. Please check that deadline before cancelling.
For cancellations made in time, any refund is calculated using the applicable booking and payment conditions. Card payments may be subject to a retained processing or cancellation fee where the relevant terms provide for it. Cancellations after the deadline may be non-refundable.
Where a card payment is only authorised and has not been captured, the payment service may release the authorisation instead of processing a conventional refund. The timing of the release or refund can depend on the payment provider.
8. Vehicle capacity, luggage and child seats
Select a category that can accommodate both the passengers and all of their luggage. Suitcases, pushchairs and other large items should be accurately declared. We cannot carry passengers or belongings beyond a vehicle’s safe and lawful capacity.
Child seats can be requested when that option is available. The standard charge is £10 per child seat, per journey leg, unless a different amount is displayed or agreed. You may also provide a suitable child seat of your own.
Please raise mobility, assistance or other special requirements as early as possible so suitable arrangements can be considered. Children must travel in accordance with applicable safety laws.
9. Travelling safely and respectfully
Passengers must use required seatbelts, comply with reasonable safety instructions and treat drivers and vehicles respectfully. Unsafe, threatening, unlawful or seriously disruptive behaviour may result in refusal or termination of the journey.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited. Food and drinks other than water must not be consumed in the vehicle unless expressly permitted.
Passengers may be charged reasonable repair, specialist cleaning or vehicle downtime costs where damage or excessive soiling occurs as a result of their journey.
10. Assistance dogs and other animals
Accredited assistance dogs will be carried in accordance with applicable law without a separate assistance-dog charge.
Other animals need to be declared ahead of travel and may require agreement, an appropriate vehicle and an additional charge. Pets should be safely secured in a suitable carrier or restraint.
11. Customer accounts and invoiced journeys
Customer account features may be provided for viewing or managing eligible bookings. Any approved business or credit account arrangement is subject to its own conditions, credit limits and payment terms.
Where invoicing has been agreed, payment is due according to the agreed schedule. We may restrict additional account bookings when invoices are overdue or an agreed limit is reached.
12. Personal belongings and property left behind
Please check the vehicle carefully before you leave it. We cannot promise that items forgotten in a car will always be recovered.
If an item is missing, contact us with the relevant booking information. Where an item can be recovered, collection or delivery can be arranged, and reasonable return or courier costs may be payable.
13. Journey estimates, disruption and responsibility
We aim to provide services with reasonable care and skill. Traffic, severe weather, road closures, breakdowns, airport restrictions and other events can affect estimated journey times.
Please leave an appropriate margin for flights, rail connections, appointments and important events. Estimates are not guarantees of an arrival time.
Nothing in these conditions removes rights or liability which cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or other non-excludable liability. Any limitation of other losses applies only to the extent permitted by law.
14. Website services and general conditions
The website may depend on mapping, messaging, payment and other third-party services. Service availability and technical performance cannot always be guaranteed.
Information about personal-data use and cookies is available in our Privacy Policy. If a condition is unenforceable, the remaining conditions continue so far as law permits. Delay in enforcing a right does not necessarily mean that right is waived.
The booking confirmation, these terms and any expressly agreed account conditions should be read together.
15. Need to ask us about a condition?
